Progress is defined in the following ways:  Movement, as toward a goal or to advance and proceed.  Development or growth, steady improvement, a ceremonial journey.  To advance toward a higher or better stage; improve steadily and to increase in scope.

An Idiom for progress is “in progress” which means going on or underway, such as a work in progress.

Greenways of Oldham County can relate to all the various ways progress is defined as we have enjoyed progress in our efforts over the past 2-3 years.  We also see our goals and vision as a “work in progress”, looking forward to future plans that we envision for a complete network of greenways and trails throughout Oldham County.

Our grand vision for the future is to develop interurban greenways connecting every community in Oldham County.  In doing so, we will provide a safe place for bicyclists and pedestrians to travel without having to use primary highways as their routes.  As we have seen part of this vision take place over the past couple years with the projects completed, we are definitely encouraged.  However, we know that we must continue to work to find new grants and other sources of funding to complete future projects that we have planned.
